UW-Whitewater Flute Camp

I can't wait to teach and perform again this summer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Flute Camp! I look forward to seeing campers from last summer and meeting new ones.

Camp runs from July 13-18, 2014 for flutists in grades
8-12.

Flutes about Town - Flute Duo

Flutist Jennifer Wilhelms and I are teaming up to perform Telemann's Canonic Sonata No. 3 in D Major at Chicago Flute Club's first community outreach event at Lexington Square in Lombard, Illinois on Saturday, June 28 at 3:30pm.

Come here us perform J.S. Bach's French Suite No. 1 in D Minor, Joaquin Rodrigo's Serenata al Alba del Dia, and a selection of classical solo flute and guitar works.

The Atacama Concert: Flute Duos with Guitar and Piano


I'll be returning to the People's Music School in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood on Friday, May 23 at 7:30pm to give a FREE recital featuring guitarist Jack Cimo and pianist Yoko Yamada-Selvaggio. 

Works will include:
J.S. Bach's French Suite No. 1 in D minor, BWV 812 (arr. for flute and guitar by Michael Kudirka), Lili Boulanger's Nocturne, Albert Franz Doppler's Air Valaques, Nancy Galbraith's Atacama Sonata, and Joaquin Rodrigo's Serenata al Alba del Dia. 

The composers represent five different countries - an exciting array of great works.

People's Music School Masterclass

Guitarist Jack Cimo and I will give an hour-long masterclass to the students at The People's Music School on Thursday, May 22 at 5pm. We'll be performing two pieces in preview of our Friday, May 23 recital - a transcription for flute and guitar of J.S. Bach's French Suite No. 1 in D Minor and Joaquin Rodrigo's Serenade to the Dawn.

In the class, we'll speak about the significance of these pieces, tips for chamber music collaboration, and baroque performance practices. A question and answer session will follow.

We're really looking forward to performing for the students and faculty at this great music academy in Uptown!

Mode - Court at Versailles

Musicians Club of Women Recital

I am happy to have been asked to perform for one of the Musicians Club of Women monthly meeting recitals! I will perform Sergei Prokofiev's Cinq Melodies and Ian Clarke's Spiral Lament with pianist Yoko Yamada-Selvaggio. The recital begins at 11am on Monday, February 17 at the Union League Club of Chicago's Crystal Ballroom (5th Floor) and will be followed by lunch. If you are a member of the MCW, I look forward to seeing you there!

Tenth Festival of Women Composers

Come hear me perform my lecture/recital entitled "An Exploration of 20th Century Women Composers: Works for Flute and Piano" at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Festival of Women Composers on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 10:10am in Gorell Recital Hall. 

The works performed will include Lili Boulanger (Nocturne), Mélanie Bonis (Une Flûte Soupire), Germaine Tailleferre (Pastorale and Forlane), Lita Grier (Sonata for flute and piano – I. Allegro con spirito), and Nancy Galbraith (Atacama – I. Capricho). In addition to these performed works, the discussion will also focus on Cécil Chaminade, Kristin Kuster, Thea Musgrave, and Laura Schwendinger.

First Congregational Church

I'll be performing three pieces with organ accompaniment in the Sunday, December 29th 10:30am service at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix, Michigan. Last time I performed there was back in March when I soloed with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra. Beautiful church and acoustics!
